Training Courses
The new fire safety order effective from 1st October 2006 applies to all workplace premises. It says:
Appropriate risk based fire training must also be carried out on a regular basis, by a competent person*
* The definition of competent is where a person has had sufficient training and or knowledge and other qualities to carry out that role
All Employees must be given adequate Fire Safety training (during normal working hours) when they commence employment and receive refresher training as appropriate, or when circumstances change which affect Fire Safety.
Depending upon the size and complexity of your business, this may range from issuing booklets or using videos to undergoing a tailored fire safety course. Whatever is recommended will ensure that your company complies with the training requirements under fire safety legislation.
Courses and induction sessions are offered to organisations who can provide training facilities either in-house or at a local training centre. For all courses, The Emergency Evacuation Company provides all course notes, video and presentation material.

Emergency Response Course
The ‘Emergency Response’ course is a highly specialised course and first aid solution that meets the needs of today’s organisations based in the heart of a city such as London.
Since the September 11th attacks in New York and the 7/7 bombings in London, The Emergency Response course has helped key personnel prepare as best they can for the aftermath of a terrorist event or similar emergency situation.
An emergency response system is required for attending to the needs of injured personnel in the event of such an incident. A contingency plan of this type will firstly save lives and secondly enable evacuation procedures to succeed whilst implementing a casualty plan.
In the immediate aftermath of a major incident, there is a “dead zone”. This is the time directly after an attack where casualties and persons are awaiting the arrival of the emergency services. An effective emergency response system will fill this void. Evacuation and casualty care can be rolled out and form part of the chain of survival.
Objectives
The purpose of the ‘Emergency Response’ course is to communicate the three main elements of an emergency response system (ERS). i.e.:
- Informs trainees of the reality of an emergency situation of this nature
- Provides trainees with the skills to deal with the types of injuries that are common to these types of emergency situations (including the use of triage format)
- Communicates a designated command and control system
Course Content
After completing the course delegates will know how to:
- Relate to the consequences of explosions and terrorist attacks
- Revisit or create a Company Emergency Response plan
- Co-ordinate with The Emergency Services to best effect in an emergency situation
- Assume critical roles if the emergency services are delayed or cannot access the disaster scene
